A better day with the Promise Book full of Bible verses, and while watching the KU vs Texas Arlington game they flashed up a Jayhawk ESPN U logo- way cute! :)
I had the privilege of watching a couple of the electricians learn how to complete some intricate task by one of the head electricians at work today- very interesting!
Anna and I had lunch at the Mad Greek- very tasty! Then I stopped by the Lawrence Public Library on the way out of town to see Dad and I checked out three books at the same time- they look good- 'The Host', 'The Spice Necklace', and '5 Ingredient Fix'
We went to Emporia for Christmas with Grandma Jan and Pa :) Kevin and Pa had a game of catch with the new rugby ball in the front yard. No snow though. How sad!
News from Europe- people are stranded all over because of snow- including in Paris. If I were stuck there I wouldn't be sleeping at the airport.. I'd be out enjoying the Parisian Winter Wonderland! :)
Starbucks at the Plaza with Jess- a pretty unexpected snowfall! And then we went to see the Kansas City Ballet's 'The Nutcracker'- good, but it made me sleepy!
Winter landscape on the way to and from the Excelsior Springs CBOC. "The Grinch Stole Christmas" lawn ornaments were funny, and a beautiful glimpse of a winding frozen river.
KU vs Colorado State at the Sprint Center with Mom, Dad, and Jerry. Lots of fun! Very snowy! Windy, snowy, and cold! We got a little bit of accumulation of snow!
Watching the FIRST EVER '' public viewing of the movie 'The Help'- in order not to give away anything from the movie we had to turn in our cell phones, have our handbags searched for recording devices (I had taken my camera back out to the car, phew!) and sign a confidentiality form. At the end we filled out a survey giving our opinion on the movie. I won't give anything away but for the fact that this movie is INCREDIBLE!!!
Downtown to move furniture at the VISN office (head of our midwest group of VA medical centers), and back at the VA the flag is at half-mast in remembrance of the anniversary of the bombing at Pearl Harbor.
